UAE President Sends Message to Canadian PM Emphasising Strengthened Bilateral Ties

Ottawa, The Gulf Observer: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has conveyed a written message to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, focusing on the advancement of bilateral relations between the United Arab Emirates and Canada.

The message was delivered by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, during his official meeting with the Canadian Prime Minister at the outset of his working visit to Ottawa.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to further deepen bilateral ties and expand prospects for cooperation across various sectors, aimed at serving mutual interests and enhancing the well-being and prosperity of both nations.

Sheikh Abdullah and Prime Minister Carney reviewed opportunities for enhanced collaboration in key areas including economic and commercial relations, energy, artificial intelligence, and education. They emphasised the importance of leveraging each country’s capabilities to foster innovation, economic growth, and sustainable development.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah underlined the strength of UAE–Canada relations, describing them as deep-rooted and based on a foundation of productive and constructive cooperation. He noted that the growing partnership reflects the shared aspirations of both countries and their commitment to supporting sustainable progress.

The meeting also included a wide-ranging discussion on regional and international developments. Both sides exchanged views on critical global issues and highlighted the importance of reinforcing joint efforts to support international peace and security.

Accompanying Sheikh Abdullah were senior UAE officials including Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade; Sultan Al Mansoori, Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs; Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs; and Abdulrahman Ali Al Neyadi, UAE Ambassador to Canada.
