Pakistan Secure Super Four Spot in Asia Cup 2025 with 41-Run Victory Over UAE

Dubai, The Gulf Observer: Pakistan booked their place in the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four after defeating the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 41 runs in the 10th group-stage match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
Chasing a target of 146, UAE were bowled out for 105 in 17.4 overs. Rahul Chopra top-scored with a run-a-ball 35, while Dhruv Prashar (20), skipper Muhammad Waseem (14) and Alishan Sharafu (12) were the only other notable contributors. Pakistan’s disciplined attack saw Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf and Abrar Ahmed claim two wickets each, with captain Salman Ali Agha and Saim Ayub picking up one apiece.
Earlier, put into bat first, Pakistan managed 146/9 in their 20 overs. The innings was rescued by Fakhar Zaman’s 50 off 36 balls, featuring two fours and three sixes, after an early collapse reduced them to 9/2. Captain Salman Ali Agha (20) provided support in a 61-run stand before a late surge from Shaheen Shah Afridi, who smashed an unbeaten 29 off 14 deliveries, pushed the total beyond 140.
For UAE, pacer Junaid Siddique starred with a remarkable 4/18, while Simranjeet Singh took three wickets and Prashar added one. Despite their bowling efforts, the Emirati side fell short with the bat, conceding Pakistan’s passage into the next stage.
