Oman Announces Official National and Religious Holidays for 2026

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: Oman has released the official schedule of national and religious holidays for the year 2026, as confirmed by the Ministry of Labour.
According to the announcement, the national holidays for 2026 include the Accession Day of His Majesty the Sultan, which will be observed on Thursday, January 15, and National Day, which will be marked over two days on Wednesday and Thursday, November 25–26.
The schedule of religious holidays for the coming year includes Isra and Mi’raj on Sunday, January 18, the Islamic New Year on Thursday, June 18, and the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) on Thursday, August 27.
The Ministry of Labour emphasized that government departments and private sector institutions whose operations require uninterrupted services must comply with the approved holiday schedule. Such entities are required to compensate employees who work during official holidays in accordance with existing labor laws and regulations.
The announcement aims to ensure clarity for both public and private sector institutions in planning operations and workforce arrangements throughout 2026.
