Kazakhstan Launches Commemorative Coin Dedicated to Olympic Games 2026 Short Track

Astana, The Gulf Observer: The National Bank of Kazakhstan has announced the release of a commemorative coin titled “Olympic Games 2026. Short Track” as part of its Sport series, Olympic.kz reported.
The coin has a face value of 1,000 tenge and is crafted from 925 sterling silver. It features color printing technology and is struck in proof quality. The coin weighs 20 grams, has a diameter of 37 millimeters, and is issued in a limited mintage of 2,000 pieces.
The commemorative coin was produced at the Kazakhstan Mint in cooperation with the German numismatic company MDM Münzhandelsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG Deutsche Münze.
The National Bank of Kazakhstan said that information regarding the start date of sales will be published separately on its official website.
The central bank also noted that commemorative coins are legal tender across the Republic of Kazakhstan at their face value. They may be used for all types of payments, deposited into bank accounts, transferred, exchanged, and converted at all banks throughout the country.
