Export from Uzbekistan to Pakistan: Fast and Guaranteed Cargo Transportation via Uzbekistan Airways Flights

Pakistan

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Over the past nine years, trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan have been developing steadily and at a rapid pace. The strengthening of mutual trust and strategic partnership between the leaders of the two countries has laid a solid foundation for elevating economic cooperation to a new level.

In particular, between 2017 and 2025, bilateral trade turnover increased by 12.2 times, reaching USD 445.9 million by the end of 2025. These figures clearly demonstrate the growing strength and deepening nature of economic cooperation between the two nations.

In 2025, the export structure was predominantly composed of agricultural products, including dried legumes, nuts, and peanuts, which accounted for nearly 80 percent of total exports. At the same time, exports of industrial goods, such as yarn and non-food raw materials, also showed positive growth dynamics. Imports were mainly comprised of food products and chemical industry goods, including pharmaceuticals and detergents.

During the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Pakistan on February 5–6 of this year, high-level negotiations resulted in the adoption of a strategic goal to increase bilateral trade turnover to USD 2 billion in the near future. Furthermore, a portfolio of trade and investment agreements worth a total of USD 3.5 billion was formed at the conclusion of the visit. These agreements предусматривают the implementation of new projects in the fields of industrial cooperation, logistics, agriculture, and energy.

In order to further enhance cooperation in trade, economic affairs, and tourism, Uzbekistan Airways currently operates regular flights four times a week on the Tashkent–Islamabad and Tashkent–Lahore routes. In addition, one of Uzbekistan’s private airlines, Centrum Air, has announced the launch of direct flights to Lahore starting in April of this year.

Moreover, opportunities to expand cargo transportation and develop air freight logistics between the two countries are being actively explored.

The introduction of direct flights creates additional convenience for exporters, significantly expanding opportunities for the fast and secure delivery of goods. In particular, all necessary conditions are in place to ensure the prompt shipment of export products to the Pakistani market via flights operating from Tashkent. Pakistani importers can transport consignments of up to two tons of goods purchased from Uzbekistan using the services of Uzbekistan Airways. This, in turn, enables the swift and competitive delivery of Uzbek products to the Pakistani market, which has a population of over 250 million people.
