UAE, Italy Leaders Discuss Regional Security, Strengthen Strategic Partnership

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni held high-level talks in Abu Dhabi to discuss pressing regional developments and their implications for global security and economic stability.
The meeting took place during Prime Minister Meloni’s official visit to the UAE, where both leaders reviewed escalating regional tensions, particularly their impact on maritime security, energy supplies, and the broader global economy.
During the discussions, the two sides addressed what they described as continued Iranian aggression targeting the UAE and other countries in the region, including attacks on civilians and critical infrastructure. They emphasized that such actions constitute violations of sovereignty, international law, and the United Nations Charter.
Prime Minister Meloni reaffirmed Italy’s strong condemnation of these attacks and expressed full solidarity with the UAE, supporting measures aimed at safeguarding national security, protecting territorial integrity, and ensuring the safety of its citizens.
In addition to security matters, both leaders reviewed bilateral relations and explored avenues to further enhance cooperation across key sectors, particularly in economic development and investment. They reiterated their shared commitment to strengthening ties within the framework of the UAE-Italy strategic partnership, underscoring mutual benefits for both nations and their peoples.
The meeting was attended by senior UAE officials, including Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, along with a number of ministers and senior representatives.
The talks reaffirmed the deepening partnership between the UAE and Italy, highlighting their joint commitment to regional stability, international cooperation, and sustainable economic growth.
