Oman’s Sultan, French President Discuss Regional Developments, Ceasefire Efforts

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Thursday received a telephone call from Emmanuel Macron, during which the two leaders reviewed the latest developments in the region in light of the recently announced ceasefire.

During the conversation, both sides underscored the importance of reinforcing and building upon the ceasefire, while continuing coordinated international efforts to address the underlying causes of the conflict. They stressed that such measures are essential for enhancing security and stability at both regional and global levels.

On a separate note, President Macron expressed his sincere appreciation to His Majesty the Sultan for Oman’s recent diplomatic efforts in securing the release of French citizens detained in Iran. He commended the Sultan’s constructive and proactive role in promoting de-escalation, as well as advancing peaceful and diplomatic solutions to regional challenges.

The exchange reaffirmed the shared commitment of Oman and France to supporting dialogue and fostering stability in the region.
