Turkmenistan and Belarus Hold Foreign Ministry Consultations in Ashgabat
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Belarus were held on 21 May 2026 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, focusing on strengthening bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.
The delegations were led by Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov and Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Pavel Utyupin.
During the consultations, both sides discussed ways to further enhance political and diplomatic cooperation and stressed the importance of maintaining regular dialogue between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
The two delegations also reviewed prospects for expanding the legal and contractual framework governing bilateral relations.
The officials highlighted the constructive cooperation between Turkmenistan and Belarus within international and regional organizations, particularly the United Nations and the Commonwealth of Independent States. They expressed readiness to continue mutual support for initiatives aimed at promoting global peace, stability, and sustainable development.
Economic cooperation was also discussed, with both sides reviewing current trade levels and exploring opportunities to expand economic ties, including increased engagement of the private sector.
In addition, the delegations exchanged views on cultural and humanitarian cooperation, noting productive collaboration in education, science, and cultural exchanges.
At the conclusion of the consultations, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Belarus.
