Turkmenistan Prepares for Presidential State Visit to Azerbaijan

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov has briefed the government on preparations for the upcoming state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan, according to Turkmen state media.
The briefing was presented during a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held via digital system on Saturday. According to the report, since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, bilateral cooperation has continued to develop successfully across political and diplomatic, trade and economic, cultural, scientific, educational and other key sectors.
It was highlighted that the legal framework of relations between the two countries now comprises 124 interstate, intergovernmental and interagency documents, reflecting the depth and institutional strength of their partnership.
The report further noted that high-level exchanges, particularly visits and meetings between the heads of state, have played a central role in advancing bilateral ties. So far, 16 official and working visits at the highest level have taken place between the two countries.
Both sides also continue to maintain effective cooperation within the framework of the United Nations and other international platforms.
In the economic domain, cooperation is expanding in energy, transport and logistics, communications, agriculture, industry, textiles, and the food sector. Cultural and humanitarian engagement also remains active, with regular events in culture, arts, science, education, and sports involving participants from both countries.
Rashid Meredov emphasized that preparations are underway for the forthcoming state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan, stating that its outcomes are expected to further strengthen bilateral relations and elevate them to a new qualitative level.
After receiving the briefing, the head of state underscored that Azerbaijan is among Turkmenistan’s close neighbouring partner countries and issued several directives for thorough preparations to ensure the success of the upcoming visit.
