World Leaders Congratulate King Mohammed VI on 27th Throne Day Anniversary
Rabat, The Gulf Observer: King Mohammed VI of Morocco received congratulatory messages from a wide range of world leaders, heads of state, monarchs and senior officials on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of his accession to the Throne, reaffirming Morocco’s strong diplomatic ties and international partnerships.
Among those extending their greetings were Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Japan’s Emperor Naruhito, King Willem-Alexander, Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf, the United Kingdom’s King Charles III, Belgium’s King Philippe, and Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tariq.
The UAE leadership also conveyed its greetings, with Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum wishing Morocco continued progress and prosperity while extending his best wishes for the Moroccan monarch’s health and happiness.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa also sent messages highlighting the close relations between their respective countries and Morocco.
Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated King Mohammed VI, noting the deep traditional friendship between China and Morocco and highlighting that 2026 marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
Russian President Vladimir Putin praised the traditionally friendly relations between Rabat and Moscow, expressing confidence that bilateral cooperation would continue to expand.
German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier described Morocco as a key and reliable partner for Germany in North Africa and the Mediterranean, noting that the strategic dialogue held this year reaffirmed the strength of the partnership between the two countries.
Australia’s Governor-General Sam Mostyn marked the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Australia and Morocco, expressing confidence that bilateral friendship would continue to flourish.
Congratulations also came from South Korean President Lee Jae Myung, Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio, Djibouti President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh, and Sudan’s leader Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, all of whom reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening relations with Morocco.
In their messages, the leaders praised the longstanding friendship and cooperation with Morocco while wishing King Mohammed VI good health and the Moroccan people continued peace, stability and prosperity. Several leaders also underlined their commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation in areas including trade, investment, sustainable development, climate action and regional stability.
Earlier this week, King Mohammed VI delivered a Throne Day address in which he reaffirmed Morocco’s commitment to advancing its development agenda and highlighted the country’s stability, security and growing role as a respected and influential partner on the regional and international stage.
