Turkmenistan, Belgium agree to develop business cooperation
Brussels, The Gulf Observer: Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev, and Ghislain D’Hoop, the Head of the Directorate-General for Multilateral Affairs and Globalization at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium, in a meeting in Brussels agreed to create the cooperation format that would gather businesspeople of the two countries, and to systematically hold business consultations, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium told on Tuesday.
The meeting was held within the framework of Vepa Hajiyev’s visit to Brussels on January 19-21.
The Deputy Minister expressed gratitude to his counterpart for supporting Turkmenistan’s initiatives at international organizations, particularly the UN, and called for continuing this mutually beneficial joint work.
The diplomats stated that the two sides have the potential to further deepen bilateral cooperation in areas such as digitalization, education, transport, energy and textile industry.
The sides also agreed on the need to strengthen the legal framework for bilateral cooperation and to work on preparing bilateral legal documents in mutually beneficial areas that could be signed during high-level visits.
The diplomats noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and supported the celebration of this momentous occasion through various cultural and educational events.
