Azerbaijan Allows Three Visa-Free Visits for Chinese Nationals
Baku, The Gulf Observer: In a significant move to bolster tourism and bilateral relations, Chinese nationals can now visit Azerbaijan visa-free up to three times within one year. This development is in accordance with the “Joint Declaration on Establishment of Strategic Partnership between Azerbaijan and China,” which was adopted on July 3, 2024.
Effective from July 20, 2024, to July 20, 2025, this visa-free period will allow Chinese citizens holding valid passports to stay in Azerbaijan for up to 30 days per visit. However, those who intend to stay longer than 15 days must register at their place of residence in compliance with the Migration Code of Azerbaijan, as reported by media citing the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan.
This declaration emphasizes the commitment of both nations to enhance tourism cooperation and overall tourism development. China has warmly welcomed Azerbaijan’s participation in the annual China International Tourism Fair and other related exhibitions.
Azerbaijan’s decision to unilaterally apply a visa-free regime for Chinese citizens aims to significantly boost tourism while expanding economic, humanitarian, and cultural ties between the two countries. The declaration also highlights ongoing efforts to facilitate mutual travel for the citizens of both nations, underscoring the strategic partnership and mutual benefits anticipated from this agreement.
