Azerbaijan Strongly Condemns Burning of National Flag in Armenia and France

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a strong condemnation following the burning of the Azerbaijani national flag during two separate incidents — a “torchlight procession” in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, on April 23, and a gathering of the Armenian community in Paris, France, on April 24.
In an official statement, the Ministry denounced these acts as unacceptable expressions of ethnic hatred, calling on the governments of Armenia and France to take immediate and appropriate measures.
“The governments of Armenia and France should have prevented such campaigns embodied in ethnic hatred, in a timely manner and should have taken appropriate security measures,” the Ministry stated, emphasizing the need for accountability.
The Ministry further asserted that these acts reflect a “revanchist and ethnic hatred-based mindset” that persists in certain segments of society in Armenia and beyond, and stressed that such actions must be “condemned and prevented at the international level.”
Azerbaijan called on both countries to identify and hold accountable those responsible for these provocative actions, underlining the importance of upholding respect for national symbols and promoting peaceful international relations.
