Saudi, French Foreign Ministers Discuss Gaza Crisis and Upcoming Peace Conference in Riyadh

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan received Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, in Riyadh on Friday for high-level talks aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and addressing pressing regional and international developments.
The meeting reaffirmed the depth of the longstanding partnership between Saudi Arabia and France, with both ministers reviewing avenues for enhanced cooperation across political, economic, and strategic domains.
A central focus of the discussions was the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza. Both sides stressed the urgent need for international coordination to alleviate the suffering of civilians and to promote a just and lasting resolution to the conflict.
In this context, the two ministers discussed the upcoming Conference on the Settlement of the Palestinian Issue, scheduled for June, which will be jointly chaired by Saudi Arabia and France. The initiative is part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to mobilize international consensus around the revival of the Middle East peace process.
Both ministers underscored the critical importance of implementing the two-state solution, viewing it as the most viable path toward achieving comprehensive and sustainable peace in the region. They agreed on the need to intensify diplomatic engagement and support constructive dialogue between the concerned parties.
The meeting was attended by Prince Musab bin Mohammed Al-Farhan, Political Affairs Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs; Saudi Ambassador to France Fahd Al-Ruwaily; and Dr. Manal Radwan, Advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
