Tbilisi, The Gulf Observer: Georgia’s Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili emphasized the crucial role of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Georgia in unlocking the region’s transit potential during a panel discussion at the Dubrovnik 2025 Forum, held under the theme “Channelling the Change.”

In her remarks, Minister Botchorishvili stated, “Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Georgia play a pivotal role in developing the region’s transit potential. Without these three strategic partner countries, it would be futile to speak of the region’s transit capabilities.”

She highlighted that the trilateral partnership is actively implementing key infrastructure projects in the energy and transportation sectors, demonstrating a deep and effective level of strategic cooperation.

“Our cooperation is not limited to this,” she added. “We have significant potential, and together with Central Asian and Eastern countries, we are working to promote the Middle Corridor, which is vital not only for Europe but also for the region itself.”

Minister Botchorishvili called on other partner countries to support the development and expansion of the Middle Corridor — a critical transcontinental trade and logistics route that aims to enhance connectivity between Europe and Asia.

The Georgian minister’s remarks underscore the growing geopolitical and economic importance of the South Caucasus as a bridge between major global markets, and the collaborative role that regional players continue to play in advancing integration and connectivity across Eurasia.
