Azerbaijan, Morocco Strengthen Parliamentary Cooperation with MoU Signing

Baku, The Gulf Observer: As part of her working visit to Istanbul, Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, held a meeting with Mohamed Ould Errachid, Speaker of the House of Councillors of Morocco.
During the meeting, both sides commended the current level of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Morocco, highlighting the steady development of political dialogue, as well as mutual support and solidarity within international organizations.
The two officials underscored the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation as a key driver in strengthening bilateral ties. They emphasized the need to expand engagement between parliamentary committees and friendship groups to further enhance collaboration.
The discussions also focused on the role of multilateral parliamentary platforms, including the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, as vital mechanisms for fostering dialogue and coordination. Both sides stressed the importance of intensifying cooperation within these frameworks.
Following the meeting, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan and the House of Councillors of Morocco, marking a significant step toward deepening parliamentary ties and expanding bilateral cooperation.
