Azerbaijani and Pakistani Parliamentary Leaders Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, met with a Pakistani parliamentary delegation led by Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, Chairman of the Senate, who is visiting Azerbaijan to attend the 15th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) in Baku.
Speaker Gafarova described the visit as a testament to the enduring friendship and brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Pakistan. She emphasized that strategic relations between the two nations are founded on these principles, with both countries consistently supporting each other on bilateral and international platforms. She further highlighted the vital role of high-level reciprocal visits in fostering and deepening relations across all sectors.
The Azerbaijani Speaker also underscored the significance of strong interparliamentary cooperation, commending the work of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan interparliamentary friendship groups in strengthening legislative ties.
For his part, Chairman Gilani reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Azerbaijan, noting the deep-rooted historical and cultural bonds shared by the two nations. He praised the robust diplomatic relations between the two countries and emphasized the importance of interparliamentary collaboration. Gilani also highlighted Pakistan’s upcoming hosting of the Second Trilateral Meeting of Speakers of Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Türkiye later this year, underlining its role in further enhancing regional cooperation.
The Pakistani delegation expressed keen interest in expanding ties in trade, defense, energy, culture, and education, identifying significant opportunities for mutual growth.
The meeting also included discussions on other areas of mutual interest, further reinforcing the commitment of both nations to strengthening their strategic partnership.
