China and Brazil Reinforce Strategic Partnership

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi highlighted the robust and complementary nature of the economies of China and Brazil, underscoring their deeply integrated interests as a valuable strategic asset. Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made these remarks during a meeting with Celso Amorim, Special Advisor to the President of Brazil, on Thursday.
Representing major developing countries and key members of BRICS, the relationship between China and Brazil transcends bilateral interests and holds strategic and global significance, Wang stated. He emphasized that the two nations share common positions on significant international and regional issues and have no disputes over geopolitical matters or practical interests.
Wang praised the collective rise of countries in the Global South, represented by China and Brazil, as a factor promoting a more balanced and equitable global power structure.
Celso Amorim echoed Wang’s sentiments, affirming that the Brazil-China relationship goes beyond bilateral concerns and holds strategic importance. He expressed Brazil’s readiness to enhance communication with China, plan and expand cooperation across various sectors, boost trade and investment, and explore new fields such as artificial intelligence and the digital economy. Amorim emphasized the goal of continuously enriching the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations.
During their meeting, Wang and Amorim also discussed the Ukraine crisis, agreeing that dialogue and negotiation are the only viable solutions to the conflict. They jointly issued a document outlining the consensus between China and Brazil on the political resolution of the crisis, urging all parties to create conducive conditions for the resumption of direct dialogue.
This meeting marks a significant step in reinforcing the strategic partnership between China and Brazil, reflecting their commitment to cooperation and shared vision on global issues.
