Deputy PM Ishaq Dar Meets Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim on Sidelines of ASEAN Regional Forum

Putrajaya, The Gulf Observer: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, met with the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, on Friday in Putrajaya, on the sidelines of the 32nd ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial Meeting.

During the meeting, Senator Ishaq Dar conveyed warm greetings from Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to enhancing bilateral relations with Malaysia. He also commended Malaysia’s dynamic leadership as the incoming Chair of ASEAN for the year 2025.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim warmly reciprocated the sentiments and expressed his anticipation for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s official visit to Malaysia, scheduled for October this year.

Deputy Prime Minister Dar expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Anwar for the gracious hospitality extended to the Pakistani delegation and lauded the outstanding organization of the 32nd ASEAN Regional Forum Ministerial Meeting.

He further appreciated the practical initiatives undertaken by Malaysia to promote bilateral trade and investment, especially in follow-up to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s visit to Pakistan in October 2023, which laid a solid foundation for strengthened economic cooperation between the two nations.
