Erdogan to Visit Kazakhstan for Strategic Talks, OTS Summit on AI and Digital Development

Astana, The Gulf Observer: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is scheduled to undertake a state visit to Kazakhstan on May 13-14 at the invitation of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, according to the press service of Akorda.

During the visit, the two leaders are expected to hold comprehensive discussions on the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Türkiye. Key areas of cooperation, including political, economic, and regional partnerships, are likely to be reviewed.

The presidents will also co-chair the sixth meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between Kazakhstan and Türkiye, a platform aimed at strengthening strategic ties and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.

Following the high-level talks in Astana, another major regional event will be held on May 15 in Turkistan, where leaders of the Organization of Turkic States will gather for an Informal Summit.

The theme of the upcoming summit is “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development,” reflecting the growing emphasis among Turkic states on technological innovation, digital transformation, and regional cooperation in emerging technologies.

The summit is expected to focus on strengthening collaboration in digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and innovation-driven economic growth among member countries.

Earlier, environment ministers from OTS member states adopted a joint declaration during their second meeting held in Astana, reaffirming cooperation on environmental protection and sustainable development initiatives within the Turkic world.
