Foreign Minister Bayramov: Azerbaijan Has Fulfilled All Obligations on Peace Agreement

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan has reaffirmed that it has fulfilled all of its obligations related to the conclusion of a peace agreement with Armenia, while reiterating that the removal of territorial claims against Azerbaijan from Armenia’s Constitution remains the key prerequisite for signing the accord.
Speaking to journalists in Baku, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, said the Azerbaijani side has already completed all necessary commitments concerning the peace agreement.
“The Azerbaijani side has already fulfilled all its obligations regarding the conclusion of the peace agreement,” Bayramov stated.
The foreign minister noted that the text of the peace agreement has already been initialed and made public, with both the preamble and all 17 articles of the document now available for public review.
Bayramov emphasized that Azerbaijan’s position on the issue has remained consistent and principled throughout the negotiation process.
He recalled that President Ilham Aliyev has repeatedly stated that Azerbaijan’s primary expectation is the removal of territorial claims against Azerbaijan from the Constitution of Armenia.
According to Bayramov, once this issue is addressed, there will be no remaining obstacles to the signing of the peace agreement, allowing the document to be finalized without delay.
The minister’s remarks reaffirm Azerbaijan’s position that constitutional changes in Armenia are essential to concluding a comprehensive peace agreement and advancing long-term stability and normalization of relations between the two South Caucasus neighbors.
