Iran and Cambodia Pledge to Boost Bilateral Ties, Advance Investment Agreement

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol and Iran’s Ambassador to Vietnam and Cambodia, Ali Akbar Nazari, have affirmed their mutual readiness to enhance bilateral relations, with a particular focus on economic cooperation and investment facilitation.

In a recent meeting, Ambassador Nazari reiterated Iran’s commitment to deepening ties with Cambodia and expressed Tehran’s readiness to share its expertise in a range of sectors, including technical and engineering services, industry, nanotechnology, petrochemicals, refinery construction, general construction, and road infrastructure development. He highlighted Iran’s interest in participating in Cambodia’s development projects and contributing to the country’s growing infrastructure.

Nazari also stressed the importance of expediting the finalization and signing of a bilateral investment support treaty, which he said would provide a framework for strengthening economic cooperation and safeguarding mutual investments.

Deputy Prime Minister Chanthol welcomed Iran’s initiative and emphasized Cambodia’s favorable legal environment for foreign investors. He underscored the government’s full support for investment partnerships and directed relevant authorities to accelerate the review of the draft mutual investment agreement.

The dialogue marks a positive step towards deeper economic collaboration between Iran and Cambodia, aligning with both countries’ strategic goals for expanded international partnerships.
