Iranian and Qatari Foreign Ministers Discuss Bilateral Ties and Regional Crisis

Doha, The Gulf Observer: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi held a meeting with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani in Doha on Saturday evening, during which the two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and regional developments of mutual concern.
The discussions focused on strengthening Iran-Qatar relations and enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors. Both ministers underscored the importance of continuing close consultations to further deepen diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.
A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to assessing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, following what they described as a two-year genocidal war waged by the Israeli regime. The ministers expressed grave concern over the continued blockade of the Gaza Strip, which has obstructed the delivery of vital humanitarian aid, including food and medical supplies.
Both parties reaffirmed the urgent need for enhanced regional cooperation to help end the suffering of the Palestinian people. They stressed the responsibility of regional countries to work collectively toward alleviating the humanitarian tragedy and promoting a lasting, just resolution to the conflict.
Foreign Minister Araqchi also briefed his Qatari counterpart on the latest progress in the ongoing indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States, without divulging specific details. These talks are part of broader efforts to manage tensions and advance diplomatic dialogue on regional security and nuclear-related matters.
Araqchi’s visit to Doha coincided with his participation in the Fourth Iran-Arab World Dialogue Summit, a platform that seeks to foster greater interaction and mutual understanding between Iranian and Arab intellectual and political communities.
Organized jointly by the Al Jazeera Centre for Studies and Iran’s Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, the summit brought together a range of regional experts and officials. Araqchi delivered a keynote speech at the event, reiterating Iran’s commitment to constructive dialogue and regional cooperation based on mutual respect and shared interests.
The meeting between the Iranian and Qatari top diplomats marks a continuation of close diplomatic engagement aimed at addressing both bilateral priorities and pressing regional challenges.
