Iran’s Foreign Minister Criticizes U.S. Over Leaked Yemen Attack Discussions

Leaked Yemen

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has strongly criticized the administration of former U.S. President Donald Trump following the leak of a private group chat among senior American officials discussing attacks on Yemen.

“People around the globe – including Americans – now see how U.S. officials look at world affairs,” Araqchi stated in a post on his X account on Thursday. His remarks came in response to the publication of leaked discussions involving Trump’s aides, including former Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, regarding military operations in Yemen.

Highlighting the contents of the leaked messages, Araqchi noted, “Some people emphasize severe incompetence and, more importantly, a total disregard for human life in U.S. decision-making.”

The Iranian foreign minister further remarked that these revelations serve as an additional reason for Tehran to approach recent U.S. political gestures with skepticism.

The controversy erupted after The Atlantic published details of the group chat on Wednesday. The messages, exchanged on the Signal app by American security and defense officials, were mistakenly sent to Jeffrey Goldberg, the magazine’s editor-in-chief.

The leaked discussions contained precise details about weapons packages, target locations, and attack timing—information shared even before U.S. warplanes had taken off for airstrikes in Yemen.

While the Trump administration has downplayed the significance of the leak, the revelations have raised serious concerns over security protocols and decision-making processes within the U.S. government.
