Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam Meets Moscow Islamic Institute Principal
Moscow, The Gulf Observer: Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders, met with Professor Damir Mukhetdinov, Principal of the Moscow Islamic Institute, to discuss bolstering cooperation in strategic studies aimed at promoting enlightened, moderate Islamic thought. The meeting highlighted the importance of presenting Islamic heritage and culture in a way that fosters tolerance, coexistence, and mutual respect.
Both leaders underscored the significance of upholding moderation and openness to diverse world cultures. During his visit to the institute, Judge Abdelsalam toured the facilities, interacted with professors and students, and reviewed key educational programs. He emphasized the role of educational and religious institutions in developing scholars who can spread Islam’s true message of peace and tolerance.
Judge Abdelsalam reiterated the Muslim Council of Elders’ commitment to these efforts, particularly through initiatives such as “Al Hokama Publishing” and the Al Hokama Centre for Peace Research. These initiatives focus on addressing intellectual and cultural challenges while promoting peace within the Muslim world.
Professor Mukhetdinov commended the efforts of the Muslim Council of Elders, led by Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, in advancing the values of moderation and tolerance. He also praised the fostering of dialogue between different cultures and religions. The meeting concluded with mutual enthusiasm for collaborating with the Al Hokama Centre for Peace Research to enhance intellectual exchanges and advance studies on the correct understanding of Islam.
