Kazakhstan Reaffirms Commitment to Diplomacy at OTS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on Antalya Forum Sidelines

Antalya, The Gulf Observer: Kazakhstan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Yermek Kosherbayev participated in an informal meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) on the sidelines of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said.

During the meeting, ministers exchanged views on pressing international and regional developments, with particular focus on efforts to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East. Discussions also covered potential pathways to stabilize the situation and enhance regional security.

In his remarks, Kosherbayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s firm commitment to promoting peace and stability through political and diplomatic means, emphasizing that conflicts should be resolved exclusively through dialogue. He reiterated Kazakhstan’s readiness to provide a platform for negotiations aimed at peaceful conflict resolution.

The minister also highlighted the significance of the upcoming informal OTS Summit scheduled to be held in Turkistan in May, noting that it is expected to inject fresh momentum into the organization’s activities by strengthening cooperation and consolidating the efforts of member states.

Participants further discussed matters related to the institutional development of the OTS, underlining the importance of enhancing its effectiveness and regional role.

On the margins of the forum, Kosherbayev held a series of bilateral meetings with key international counterparts, including Xavier Bettel, Fernando Aramayo Carrasco, Kęstutis Budrys, João Bernardo Vieira, and Kajsa Ollongren.

The meetings focused on advancing bilateral ties and strengthening multilateral cooperation, as well as addressing key issues on the global agenda, the statement added.
