King Mohammed VI Congratulates US President Donald Trump on America’s 250th Independence Anniversary
Rabat, The Gulf Observer: King Mohammed VI of Morocco has extended congratulations to United States President Donald Trump and the American people on the occasion of the United States National Day, marking the 250th anniversary of American independence.
In a congratulatory message, the Moroccan monarch conveyed his sincere best wishes on behalf of himself and the people of Morocco as the United States commemorated the historic milestone on July 4.
King Mohammed VI noted that the anniversary also marks 250 years of enduring relations between Morocco and the United States, recalling that Morocco was the first country to formally recognize American independence, laying the foundation for one of the world’s oldest continuous diplomatic relationships.
The King described Morocco-US relations as “distinguished and unique,” emphasizing that they have long been built on the principles of friendship, mutual respect and enduring cooperation.
Highlighting bilateral ties during President Trump’s leadership, the monarch said relations between the two countries had become stronger and more productive. He also referred to President Trump’s recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara, describing the decision as historic and one that holds lasting significance for the Moroccan people.
King Mohammed VI further welcomed the growing momentum in trade and economic cooperation, noting that bilateral economic relations have reached unprecedented levels. He expressed confidence that the strategic partnership between Morocco and the United States is entering a new phase of enhanced cooperation and shared prosperity.
The Moroccan monarch also commended the close security and military partnership between the two countries, describing it as a model of excellence that contributes to protecting their common interests and shared values.
He highlighted the annual African Lion joint military exercise, hosted by Morocco in cooperation with the United States, as a leading example of the strong defence collaboration between the two longstanding partners.
Concluding his message, King Mohammed VI reaffirmed Morocco’s steadfast commitment to further strengthening and deepening its strategic partnership with the United States across political, economic, security and other areas of mutual interest.
