President Tokayev Extends National Dombra Day Greetings

Astana, The Gulf Observer: Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Kazakhstan on the occasion of National Dombra Day, describing the traditional musical instrument as a timeless symbol of the nation’s identity, cultural heritage and spiritual values.
According to the Akorda Press Service, President Tokayev said the dombra has long served as the voice of the Kazakh nation, accompanying the people through both times of joy and hardship while strengthening national unity and resilience.
The President emphasized that the dombra plays a vital role in preserving the country’s moral ideals, connecting generations and inspiring continued national development. He stressed the importance of introducing the melodies of the Great Steppe to the international community as part of efforts to promote Kazakhstan’s rich cultural heritage.
Referring to the famous words of renowned Kazakh poet Kadyr Myrza Ali, “A true Kazakh is the dombra,” President Tokayev said the phrase serves as a guiding principle for showcasing Kazakh culture and traditions on the global stage.
The Head of State also linked the celebration to Kazakhstan’s Constitution, noting that the preservation of the nation’s historical and cultural heritage is enshrined as one of its fundamental principles.
President Tokayev expressed appreciation to musicians, teachers and cultural ambassadors whose dedication continues to preserve and promote the art of the dombra both within Kazakhstan and internationally.
He said that Kazakhstan’s traditional kyuis and folk songs would continue to inspire citizens, strengthen national unity and encourage further achievements in building a Strong and Just Kazakhstan.
Concluding his message, President Tokayev wished the people of Kazakhstan peace, happiness and prosperity, expressing hope for continued well-being in every household across the country.
