Rabat, The Gulf Observer: Morocco is set to host the 6th Hospitality Innovation Summit on June 10-11 in Rabat, bringing together leading regional and international hospitality stakeholders to explore investment opportunities and support the country’s ambitious tourism expansion plans ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2030.

Organized by B2B networking events provider GBB, the summit will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel Rabat at Kasr Al Bahr and is expected to attract more than 500 senior decision-makers, developers, hotel operators, architects and industry experts from around the world.

According to the organizers, the event will focus on project development, investment opportunities and innovation in Morocco’s rapidly growing hospitality sector, which is undergoing significant expansion as the country prepares to co-host the FIFA World Cup 2030 alongside Spain and Portugal.

“With FIFA World Cup 2030 on the horizon, a target of welcoming 26 million visitors and a requirement for more than 150,000 hotel rooms before the end of the decade, Morocco’s hospitality expansion is already well underway,” GBB said in a statement.

Ravi Kumar Chandran, Founder and Managing Director of GBB, said Morocco is undergoing a transformational phase in its tourism and hospitality development.

“What is happening in Morocco is more than a hotel build-out; it is a structured national reset. The Cap Hospitality programme alone is allocating MAD 4 billion for the modernization of 25,000 existing hotel rooms, while Vision 2030 aims to attract 26 million visitors, reshaping discussions around design, procurement and operations across the sector,” Chandran said.

He also welcomed GBB’s collaboration with Morocco’s Agency for Tourism Development (SMIT) and the National Council of the Order of Architects of Morocco (CNOA), emphasizing the importance of public-private partnerships in advancing the country’s tourism objectives.

The summit will feature participation from some of Morocco’s leading hospitality and development groups, including RISMA, Atlas Hospitality, Alliances, ADDOHA, CGI, YNNA Holding and Eagle Hills Morocco. International hotel operators such as Accor, Marriott, Hilton, Radisson, BWH and Kerten are also expected to attend.

Morocco’s tourism sector has continued to record strong growth, welcoming 19.8 million visitors in 2025, representing a 14 percent increase compared to the previous year. The Ministry of Tourism described the performance as a record achievement that reflects the sustained upward trajectory of the country’s hospitality industry.

Tourism revenues also reached a record MAD 124 billion by the end of November 2025, marking a 19 percent increase over the previous year and underscoring the sector’s growing contribution to the national economy.

As part of its preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2030, Morocco is pursuing extensive investments in tourism infrastructure and accommodation capacity. The country aims to attract 26 million tourists annually by 2030 and is implementing major initiatives to expand and modernize its hotel sector.

Industry analysts have noted that Morocco is undertaking an unprecedented effort to increase hotel capacity, including plans to add 25,000 new rooms through a multi-billion-dollar investment program designed to strengthen the country’s readiness for the global sporting event.

The upcoming Hospitality Innovation Summit is expected to serve as a key platform for fostering partnerships, attracting investment and supporting Morocco’s long-term vision of becoming one of the leading tourism destinations in the region.
