Morocco’s Mindcraft Senior Wins Peer Award at FIRST World Robotics Competition in Houston
Houston, The Gulf Observer: In a defining moment for Morocco’s expanding footprint in global innovation, the Mindcraft Senior team earned the coveted Peer Award at the FIRST World Robotics Competition in Houston, USA, a testament to the country’s rising generation of tech-savvy trailblazers.
The Peer Award — a recognition voted on by fellow competitors — reflects a deep respect for teamwork, innovation, and spirit, making the honor especially meaningful for the Moroccan students.
“More than a trophy, this award means recognition from fellow teams around the world — and that’s what makes it truly special,” Mindcraft Senior shared in a heartfelt message on social media.
The competition, held from April 15 to 19, brought together thousands of young engineers from across the globe. Morocco’s representation included four national finalist teams: Mindcraft Senior, Novatard, Robot 11 Janvier, and 3andiBlasti—all of whom earned their place on the world stage through outstanding performances in national qualifiers.
The Moroccan teams’ journey to Houston was made possible by LOOP For Science & Technology, a non-profit organization championing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education among Moroccan youth.
LOOP celebrated the team’s success in an emotional tribute:
