MSME Exhibition and Competition Awards 63 Winners in Nay Pyi Taw

Nay Pyi Taw, The Gulf Observer: A total of 63 awards were presented to winners across seven categories at the Union-level MSME Exhibition and Competition in Nay Pyi Taw. The awards ceremony took place at Tabaung Ground near Uppatasanti Pagoda, attended by Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council and Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win, who also serves as Chairman of the MSME Development Work Committee.
Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo and Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw presented special prizes in small-scale industry model products, including foodstuff, personal goods, weaving products, handiworks, and microbusiness. Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn and Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than awarded honorary medals, certificates, and cash prizes to winners in small and medium-scale enterprises, as well as the One Region One Product initiative.
Meanwhile, Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe and Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation U Min Naung honored winners in multiple categories, including small-scale industry and manufacturing cooperative society. Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein presented second-place awards to MSME and cooperative businesses.
Vice-Senior General Soe Win personally presented first-place awards, including:
• Daw May Hnin Wai of Healthy & Happy foodstuffs industry (Mandalay Region) – Micro-scale business
• U Pyae Phyo Hlaing of Thansin Sun Moon honey purification plant (Sagaing Region) – Small-scale industry
• U Htoo Wai of Thalawady Co. Ltd (Yangon Region) – Medium-scale industry
• Anawrahta Oil Mill from NyaungU Township Cooperative Syndicate (Mandalay Region)
Following the ceremony, Vice-Senior General Soe Win congratulated the winners and encouraged further innovation in the MSME sector.
Promoting MSME Growth and Innovation
The exhibition aims to strengthen collaboration among MSMEs across regions, improve the production chain, and enhance product quality while ensuring fair pricing. The One Region One Product initiative remains a key focus, encouraging local entrepreneurs to develop value-added goods and reduce reliance on imports. Additionally, the event fosters ties between MSMEs and foreign investors.
Held from February 10 to 16, the exhibition features 96 booths, including government-led exhibitions, state and regional showcases, ethnic food stalls, a Digital Corner for technology demonstrations, MSME business exhibitions, and a Business Matching Hall where Myanmar-based exporters can connect with international economic attachés. Foreign machinery and industrial products are also on display.
In line with Digital Transformation efforts, winners received digital trophies, certificates, and a total cash prize of K750 million via a digital payment system, ensuring direct e-banking transfers for all recipients.
