Myanmar Gears Up for 2024 Motion Pictures Academy Awards

Nay Pyi Taw, The Gulf Observer: The 2024 Myanmar Motion Pictures Academy Awards ceremony is set to take place with grandeur on February 9 at the Myanmar International Convention Centre I (MICC-I) in Nay Pyi Taw. In anticipation of the prestigious event, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, who also chairs the organizing committee, conducted an inspection of the ongoing preparations yesterday evening alongside relevant officials.

During the visit, the Union minister reviewed key areas, including the entrance, photo booth, interview booth, and red carpet section. He also observed an exhibition showcasing documentary photographs of past Academy awardees from 1952 to 2023, along with a display of films screened in 2024. Furthermore, he assessed the stage setup at the Jade Hall, where the award ceremony will be held, inspecting the installation of sound and lighting systems, LED screens, seating arrangements, and designated media zones.

Emphasizing the significance of the event, the Union minister highlighted that the State values and respects artistes, ensuring that the Academy Awards ceremony is organized with national-level grandeur. He urged officials to finalize all preparations promptly, ensure the proper setup of sound and lighting systems, and conduct systematic rehearsals in accordance with the event schedule.

The Myanmar Motion Pictures Academy Awards remains the country’s most prestigious recognition for cinematic excellence, honoring outstanding contributions to the nation’s film industry.
