UAE, UK Discuss Regional Security and Bilateral Ties

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, held talks with Yvette Cooper, United Kingdom Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, focusing on regional developments and strengthening bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the latest developments in the region, including what were described as unprovoked Iranian missile attacks targeting the UAE and several other countries. They discussed the serious implications of these incidents for regional and international security, the safety of global navigation routes, energy supplies, and the broader global economy.
Cooper reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s solidarity with the UAE, expressing support for measures aimed at safeguarding the country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the security of its citizens, residents, and visitors.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed expressed appreciation for the visit, noting that it reflects the strong and longstanding ties between the two nations and underscores the UK’s firm support for the UAE in the wake of recent developments. He also confirmed that all residents and visitors in the country remain safe.
The discussions also covered recent diplomatic developments, including the announcement by Donald Trump regarding a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran. Both sides emphasized the importance of intensifying international efforts to تعزيز security and stability while advancing prospects for sustainable peace in the region.
In addition, the two officials explored avenues to further enhance UAE-UK relations across areas of mutual interest, with a shared commitment to promoting prosperity and well-being for their respective peoples.
