Myanmar’s E-Government Implementation Committee Holds First Coordination Meeting

Yangon, The Gulf Observer: The Working Committee for the Implementation of E-Government convened its first coordination meeting yesterday afternoon at the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications, General Mya Tun Oo, who also serves as Chairman of the Working Committee, emphasized the necessity of concerted efforts to achieve the objectives outlined in the Myanmar E-Government Master Plan 2030. He underscored key focus areas including the development of ICT infrastructure, the establishment of e-procurement systems, collaboration between government and private sectors, training of skilled personnel, setting of standards, conducting research, dissemination of information, and fostering international cooperation.

Furthermore, General Mya Tun Oo highlighted the importance of coordinating efforts to advance public electronic services efficiently and accelerate e-government development.

The meeting saw active participation from working committee members, chairs of sub-committees, and officials from regional and state governments. Discussions centered on strategies for effective implementation, with participants seeking guidance from the Chairman.

Following a thorough exchange of ideas, General Mya Tun Oo provided necessary instructions before concluding the meeting.
