Oman and Iraq Discuss Strengthening Transport and Logistics Cooperation in Baghdad

Baghdad, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Iraq held a bilateral discussion session on Thursday in Baghdad, focusing on strengthening joint cooperation in the field of transport and exploring opportunities to develop this vital sector.

The meeting was co-chaired by Eng. Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Oman’s Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, and his Iraqi counterpart, Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, Minister of Transport of the Republic of Iraq.

During the session, the two ministers reviewed the current status of transport cooperation and exchanged views on mechanisms to expand collaboration, particularly in enhancing connectivity and improving logistics capabilities between the two nations.

The discussions also covered a range of topics including infrastructure development, potential investment in transport corridors, and initiatives aimed at promoting regional integration through efficient logistics and transport networks.

The meeting was attended by senior officials and technical experts from both sides, reflecting the mutual interest in deepening strategic partnerships in the transport and logistics sectors.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continued dialogue and coordination to advance mutual interests and contribute to the economic development of the broader region.
