Oman Participates in Arab Forum for Environment in Riyadh

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Environment Authority, is actively participating in the Arab Forum for Environment, themed “Restore Land to Build Resilience.” The event is being held in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and is organized by the Secretariat General of the Arab League in collaboration with the UN Environment Programme’s West Asia Office.

Oman’s delegation to the forum is led by Dr. Abdullah Ali Al Amri, Chairman of the Environment Authority. The forum addresses four key themes: land degradation and regional and global environmental challenges, land and enhancing food and water security, the importance of environmental commitment in preserving terrestrial ecosystems, and initiatives to rehabilitate terrestrial ecosystems at international, regional, and national levels.

The primary objective of the Arab Forum for Environment sessions is to exchange expertise in related fields, identify potential cooperation partnerships, and establish regional dialogue among stakeholders to discuss the current environmental situation and anticipate future prospects in the Arab region. The forum aims to provide a regular platform for dialogue among various stakeholders, including policymakers and international and regional experts, while expanding opportunities for partnerships and cooperation among key actors.

This initiative underscores the commitment of the participating countries to address critical environmental issues and enhance collaborative efforts to promote sustainable development and environmental conservation in the Arab region.
