Muscat, The Gulf Observer: Oman and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation and enhancing regional coordination during high-level talks between Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, and Saudi Foreign Minister, Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, in Muscat on Wednesday.

The meeting took place as part of the ongoing exchange of fraternal visits between the two countries and focused on the steady progress of the strong brotherly relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia across a wide range of sectors.

During their bilateral discussions, the two ministers reviewed regional and international developments of mutual interest and explored ways to further strengthen coordination on key political and security issues.

An expanded session of talks followed, attended by ministers and senior officials from both sides. The discussions centered on advancing cooperation in economic, investment, and logistics sectors, with an emphasis on promoting greater integration, facilitating trade, and expanding practical partnerships at the bilateral, regional, and Gulf levels within the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

The two sides also reviewed initiatives under the Joint Omani-Saudi Coordination Council, highlighting opportunities to capitalize on the complementary strengths of both countries. They emphasized alignment between Oman Vision 2040 and Saudi Vision 2030, while underscoring the important role of the private sector in driving sustainable economic cooperation.

On regional and international issues, the ministers discussed developments concerning navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, stressing its strategic importance for global trade and international energy security.

Both sides underscored the need to prioritize de-escalation, avoid actions that could heighten regional tensions, and pursue diplomatic efforts aimed at safeguarding the safety and freedom of maritime navigation.

The expanded talks were attended by senior ministers and officials from both Oman and Saudi Arabia, reflecting the shared commitment of the two countries to broadening their strategic partnership and enhancing cooperation across political, economic, energy, and logistics sectors.
