Oman, UNICEF Discuss Expanding Cooperation on Humanitarian and Development Initiatives

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in humanitarian and development sectors during a meeting held at the Foreign Ministry in Muscat on Thursday.
The discussions took place between Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, and Carla Haddad Mardini, Director of the Private Sector Fundraising and Partnerships Division at United Nations Children’s Fund.
According to officials, the meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and UNICEF across various fields, with particular emphasis on supporting humanitarian and development initiatives that deliver sustainable and long-term impact.
The two sides also highlighted Oman’s role in advancing multilateral efforts aimed at promoting sustainable development and strengthening humanitarian action at the regional and international levels.
The meeting was attended by Omar Said Al Kathiri, Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Nations, and Sumaira Chowdhury, UNICEF Representative in Oman, along with several officials from both sides.
The discussions reflect the continued partnership between Oman and UNICEF in addressing humanitarian challenges and supporting development programs that contribute to the well-being of communities and future generations.
