Azerbaijani Flag Raised at Niagara Falls to Mark Independence Day

Baku, The Gulf Observer: The national flag of Azerbaijan was ceremonially raised in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, in celebration of May 28, Azerbaijan’s Independence Day, highlighting the country’s national pride and the growing visibility of the Azerbaijani community abroad.

The event was organized by the Azerbaijani House in Canada and brought together members of the Azerbaijani diaspora from Toronto, Hamilton, Cambridge, and surrounding regions to commemorate the historic occasion.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lalin Hasanova, head of the Azerbaijani House in Canada, described the raising of the Azerbaijani flag at Niagara Falls as a proud and meaningful moment for the community. She noted that the event reflected the strong sense of unity and cultural identity among Azerbaijanis living in Canada.

Hasanova also expressed her appreciation to Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati and City Council members Mona Patel and Ruth-Ann Nieuwesteeg for their support in facilitating the initiative.

The ceremony served as a symbol of friendship, cultural diversity, and the continued engagement of the Azerbaijani diaspora in promoting Azerbaijan’s heritage and national values on the international stage.
