President Emomali Rahmon Issues Congratulatory Message on Tajikistan Youth Day

President Emomali

Dear Youth of the Prosperous Nation,

Beloved Children,

I sincerely congratulate all of you on the Youth Day of Tajikistan.

I also extend my congratulations to all young people who are studying and working abroad.

This year, we celebrate Youth Day in a historic year for the noble people of Tajikistan — the 35th anniversary of our country’s State Independence.

Indeed, independence and freedom are among the most sacred and important values, and the greatest blessings for every patriotic citizen of the country, especially for our younger generation.

Throughout the 35 years of independence and modern statehood, the youth have played an exceptionally significant role as an active and driving force of society.

I proudly state that the youth of our country, as one of the most active segments of society, are making meaningful contributions to the implementation of state policies, the development of the national economy, and the advancement of science, education, culture, and modern technologies.

They are making valuable contributions to strengthening the achievements of independence, protecting the country’s borders and territorial integrity, ensuring the security of society and the state, reinforcing peace and stability, and advancing the socio-economic development of the nation.

Today, there is virtually no sector in the country where our youth are not actively involved.

From the very first years of independence, the State and Government have undertaken extensive measures to create favorable conditions for education, professional training, sports, entrepreneurship, and for ensuring that young people attain a достойное and respected place in society.

First and foremost, a modern legal and institutional framework was established to successfully implement the state youth policy.

Step by step, all necessary conditions have been created for young people to acquire education, knowledge, and professional skills, and this process continues steadily.

This is because one of the key paths toward the country’s progress and prosperity lies in educating a highly skilled and knowledgeable younger generation.

It is noteworthy that during the 35 years of independence, nearly one million young people have graduated from higher educational institutions within the country, while more than 140,000 have graduated from foreign universities and acquired professional qualifications.

However, I emphasize that given the rapid development of science and technology and the demands of modern times, this is still not sufficient.

Under such conditions, the study of modern sciences and knowledge — including artificial intelligence, the digital economy, information technologies, electronic services, programming, renewable energy, and innovative entrepreneurship — is of paramount importance for young people.

Young people must understand that the country’s sustainable socio-economic development directly depends on scientific and technological advancement and the introduction of advanced technologies.

Therefore, it is essential for youth at this stage to engage with determination in productive scientific research, creativity, and innovation.

At the same time, it should be remembered that learning foreign languages and broadening one’s scientific outlook create vast opportunities for education, employment, and international cooperation.

Professional training and mastering modern skills are important factors in ensuring a dignified life and achieving economic competitiveness, and our youth must strive even harder in this direction.

Young people must also resist destructive phenomena and extremist ideologies with sound thinking and a strong sense of responsibility.

In today’s turbulent world, only those states remain strong and resilient against modern threats and challenges whose people — especially their youth — are patriotic, aware, educated, professionally skilled, innovative, and united.

Beloved Children,

I would like to emphasize one very important point that you must always remember.

We, the Tajiks, are an Aryan-origin nation with more than 6,000 years of history, culture, and civilization-building heritage.

We published and distributed free of charge the masterpiece “Tajiks” by the distinguished scholar Bobojon Ghafurov and the immortal Shahnameh by the great sage Abulqasim Ferdowsi precisely so that people — especially children and youth — would know their history, understand their roots and patriotic traditions, take pride in them, and strive to preserve and strengthen them.

Particularly in the conditions of globalization and the negative influence of foreign cultures and traditions, you must study, value, and preserve the fundamental national values of our ancient Tajik nation — our history, language, culture, customs, and traditions.

Most importantly, cherish the priceless blessing of our nation and state — independence and freedom — and devote all your efforts to protecting and strengthening them.

It is precisely this invaluable blessing that earns us recognition and respect on the world stage and brings honor to our ancient civilization.

We do not call today’s youth the source of great initiatives, the builders of the prosperous future of independent Tajikistan, and the driving force of society without reason.

For the bright future of the state and nation rests solely in your hands — the honorable, self-aware, patriotic, and modern-minded youth.

We have complete confidence in our young people — the generation of independence — in their strong national spirit and deep patriotism, and we rely on them more than anyone else for the progress of Tajikistan.

We are confident that our youth will make a valuable and notable contribution to celebrating the sacred and great national occasion — the 35th anniversary of State Independence.

Dear Youth,

Once again, I urge you to protect independence and freedom as the most sacred and precious blessings for the freedom-loving and peace-loving Tajik nation.

Love this paradise-like homeland sincerely, and preserve it as the land of our ancestors for future generations of the ancient Tajik nation.

Never betray your homeland — your motherland — or your nation under any circumstances.

In today’s highly sensitive and complex world, protect the moral image of the ancient Tajik nation.

Be examples of noble human values, proper conduct, strong national identity, patriotism, and self-awareness.

Respect your parents and elders, and uphold our noble national customs and traditions.

Preserve the purity of the mother tongue, for our language is considered one of the world’s oldest and most beautiful languages, and this sweet and eloquent language is the essence of the ancient Tajik nation.

You, who are growing up in an atmosphere of unity, stability, and the development of our free country, are obliged to safeguard independent Tajikistan and make it even more prosperous and advanced through your constructive work and actions.

Every young person must deeply understand that Tajikistan is their homeland, their sacred home, and that its prosperity depends on their hard work, loyalty, and responsibility.

Once again, I congratulate all of you — the continuers of the ancient history and culture of the Aryan Tajik nation — on the occasion of Youth Day, and I wish each of you, above all, good health, happiness, prosperity, and even greater success in your constructive activities for the progress of our beloved homeland.

May the youth of Tajikistan always remain at the forefront of science and enlightenment, defenders of peace and stability, and builders of the bright present and future of our beloved homeland.

Happy Youth Day of Tajikistan, dear children!
