President Ilham Aliyev Approves Financial Assistance for World War II Veterans and Beneficiaries

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order granting one-time financial assistance to participants of the 1941–1945 Second World War, as well as to widows of those who were killed or later passed away, and individuals recognized for their dedicated labor on the home front.

Under the order, World War II veterans will receive a one-time payment of 2,750 manats. Meanwhile, a payment of 1,500 manats will be provided to widows of fallen or deceased veterans, individuals awarded orders and medals for their contributions on the home front, and those who served in special units operating in rear or operational zones supporting military forces.

The assistance will also extend to recipients of medals and badges for the defense of Leningrad, as well as participants of the Leningrad blockade.

To fund the initiative, 3 million manats will be allocated from the 2026 Presidential Reserve Fund.

The decree also includes directives to relevant state institutions, including the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, to ensure the effective implementation of the payments.

The move reflects Azerbaijan’s continued commitment to honoring the contributions and sacrifices of World War II veterans and associated beneficiaries.
