President Joko Widodo Inaugurates Kusuma Bangsa Park in IKN Nusantara

East Kalimantan, The Gulf Observer: President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially launched the Kusuma Bangsa Park in the new capital city, IKN Nusantara, East Kalimantan, on Monday. The park is envisioned as a place of reflection, dedicated to honoring the struggles of Indonesia’s national heroes.

In his opening remarks, President Jokowi emphasized the significance of the park in preserving the memory of those who fought for the nation’s independence. “To honor the heroes, the fighters of the nation, especially the nation’s founders Bung Karno and Bung Hatta, we launched the Kusuma Bangsa Park,” the President stated.

The inauguration ceremony was marked by the symbolic wailing of sirens, followed by the signing of an official inscription by President Jokowi, formally commemorating the park’s establishment.

Kusuma Bangsa Park will serve as a memorial and a public space where the nation can reflect on its history and pay tribute to its independence heroes. The park will also be the site of the national reflection and honorary routine ceremony, to be held as part of the celebrations for the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17.

Designed as both a monumental site and a community space, the park stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Indonesia’s independence fighters and a reminder of the nation’s proud history.
