President Mirziyoyev Reviews Modernization Project for Namangan International Airport

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: In a strategic move aimed at bolstering Uzbekistan’s transportation infrastructure, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev personally inspected the ambitious modernization project underway at Namangan International Airport. Recognizing the pivotal role of enhanced airport facilities in facilitating regional connectivity and economic growth, President Mirziyoyev emphasized the imperative of adapting to evolving demands of commerce and travel.

Situated at the heart of the Fergana Valley, Namangan International Airport serves as a vital gateway connecting the region with the rest of the country. Given the limited accessibility via trains, the airport’s revitalization emerges as a crucial step towards accommodating burgeoning demands in business, transport services, and tourism.

The comprehensive modernization endeavor encompasses the construction of a state-of-the-art cargo terminal, along with catering and fuel refueling complexes, among other essential utility buildings. Notably, the project also entails a significant expansion of the passenger terminal’s capacity to facilitate the seamless transit of up to 1,000 travelers per hour. The envisioned enhancements promise to not only invigorate local business endeavors but also fortify Uzbekistan’s position in global trade and transit.

Integral to the modernization plan is the augmentation of specialized equipment fleets, ensuring the airport’s capability to service a diverse range of aircraft efficiently. President Mirziyoyev underscored the importance of optimizing the airport’s operational efficiency, accentuating the imperative of augmenting both domestic and international flight frequencies. Emphasizing accessibility, the President stressed the significance of ensuring affordability of air travel for all segments of society.

Concluding his visit to Namangan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev returned to the capital, Tashkent, with a firm commitment to overseeing the timely and successful execution of the modernization project. The President’s directives underscored a resolute dedication to advancing Uzbekistan’s infrastructure, fostering economic prosperity, and enhancing connectivity on both regional and global scales.
