Khovaling District

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: President of Tajikistan and Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, on Friday inaugurated the Asri Vahdat dairy processing plant in the Munki settlement of Khovaling District, marking another step in the country’s efforts to expand domestic food production and create employment opportunities.

The newly established industrial facility produces more than 10 types of dairy products, including cream, cottage cheese, kefir, yogurt, cheese, fruit kefir, fermented milk products, butter, and other dairy items.

The plant was constructed by local entrepreneur Jumakhon Qosimov in line with the President’s directives aimed at increasing the supply of natural, environmentally friendly, and safe food products to the population. The facility is equipped with processing and storage tanks ranging in capacity from one to ten tonnes.

The launch of the enterprise has created 20 permanent jobs for local residents, contributing to economic development and employment generation in the district.

Officials informed the President that the dairy plant has a production capacity of 30 tonnes per month and up to 360 tonnes annually, producing high-quality and environmentally sustainable dairy products. These products will be marketed domestically under the Asri Vahdat brand in packaging of various sizes.

During a tour of the production line, President Rahmon instructed managers and staff to strictly observe safety regulations during processing and packaging operations and to ensure that production processes comply with both national and international standards.

It was noted that the plant receives its milk supply from the entrepreneur’s own livestock farm. Plans are also in place to establish cooperation with local residents to ensure a stable supply of raw materials. Before processing, all milk undergoes comprehensive testing in a laboratory equipped in accordance with international requirements and standards.

Following his visit to the dairy facility, President Rahmon reviewed plans for the construction of a sausage production plant in Munki settlement. The new facility, which will also be developed by the same entrepreneur, will be equipped with modern production and working conditions.

According to officials, the sausage processing plant will have the capacity to process up to one tonne of meat per day and is expected to provide permanent employment for an additional 20 local residents.

The entrepreneur currently operates a livestock farm with more than 20 dairy cows of the black-and-white breed and 100 Swedish-breed cattle, ensuring a steady supply of both milk and meat for the two production facilities.

The projects form part of Tajikistan’s broader efforts to strengthen food security, promote local industry, and support sustainable economic development in rural areas.
