President Shavkat Mirziyoyev Pays Tribute to Islam Karimov on His Birth Anniversary

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: On January 30, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev laid flowers at the Monument to Islam Karimov in Tashkent, honoring the memory of Uzbekistan’s First President.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Oliy Majlis chambers, the Presidential Administration, the government, the intelligentsia, and prominent public figures of the city.
This event reaffirmed that the dedication and contributions of Islam Karimov to the nation will always be remembered and respected. Under the initiative of President Mirziyoyev, the legacy of the First President has been immortalized—his birthday, January 30, is observed annually, a scientific and educational memorial complex has been established in Tashkent, and visiting Karimov’s mausoleum in Samarkand during official trips has become a longstanding tradition.
During the ceremony, verses from the Quran were recited, and prayers (dua) were offered in remembrance of Islam Karimov. Attendees reflected on his invaluable contributions to the country’s development and his lifelong service to the Uzbek people.
Similar commemorative events were also held in Samarkand and Karshi, marking the occasion with deep respect and remembrance.
