Qatari PM Calls PM Shehbaz, Offers Support Amid Rising Tensions Following Indian Missile Strikes

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday received a telephone call from His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar. The two leaders discussed the prevailing situation in the region, with particular focus on rising tensions in South Asia.
During the conversation, the Qatari Prime Minister expressed concern over the deteriorating regional situation and conveyed Qatar’s willingness to play a constructive role in de-escalating tensions and promoting peace.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed appreciation for Qatar’s solidarity and support during this critical time. He strongly condemned the recent missile strikes carried out by India on six locations within Pakistan, terming the action an unprovoked act of war. He emphasized that the cowardly attack, which resulted in the martyrdom of 26 innocent men, women, and children, and the destruction of several mosques, constituted a blatant violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Prime Minister underscored that while Pakistan remains committed to peace in the region, it will defend its sovereignty with full resolve and strength. He recalled that in the wake of the Pahalgam incident, Pakistan had offered a neutral and transparent international investigation into India’s allegations, reaffirming the country’s principled stance on the issue. He further stated that Pakistan would welcome Qatar’s participation in such an effort. However, he noted with regret that India had opted for a path of aggression, reflecting irresponsible state conduct and a disregard for regional peace.
Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani conveyed his condolences over the tragic loss of lives and acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts and commitment to peace and stability in South Asia.
Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact and work together for the promotion of peace and stability in the region.
