Rahmon, Pezeshkian Hold Talks on Trade, Investment and Regional Peace

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran on Friday to discuss the further expansion of bilateral cooperation and regional developments.
At the outset of the meeting, President Rahmon once again extended his condolences to the leadership and people of Iran over the martyrdom of the country’s former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei.
During the talks, the two leaders expressed satisfaction with the steady progress in multifaceted cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran, highlighting the positive trajectory of bilateral relations.
They underscored the effective work of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission as an important mechanism for strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

Both sides emphasised the importance of implementing joint projects in key sectors, including industry, energy, mining, agriculture, road infrastructure, transport, tourism and healthcare.
Discussing regional security issues, the two presidents expressed hope that peace and reconciliation efforts would continue to advance and that political and diplomatic approaches would remain the preferred means of resolving regional conflicts.
At the conclusion of the meeting, President Rahmon and President Pezeshkian reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening comprehensive cooperation and deepening the longstanding ties of friendship and brotherhood between Tajikistan and Iran.
