Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan Sign Anti-Corruption Cooperation Agreements

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan have signed two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation in preventing and combating corruption.
The agreements were signed in Tashkent between Saudi Arabia’s Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) and Uzbekistan’s Prosecutor General’s Office and Anti-Corruption Agency.
The signing ceremony was attended by Nazaha President Mazin Al-Kahmous, Uzbek Prosecutor General Nigmatulla Yuldashev, Director of the Uzbek Anti-Corruption Agency Akmal Burkhanov, and Saudi Ambassador to Uzbekistan Saleh Algahrah.
The MoUs aim to enhance joint efforts in combating cross-border corruption, facilitating the exchange of information and expertise, and strengthening institutional capacities in both countries.
Officials from both sides also held high-level discussions on strategies to promote integrity, transparency, and good governance. The meeting featured a presentation of Nazaha’s major anti-corruption initiatives and a review of Uzbekistan’s recent reforms and practices in the field.
The agreements mark a significant step in advancing collaborative efforts to counter corruption and reinforce mutual commitments to accountability and ethical governance.
