Tokayev, Putin Discuss Kazakhstan-Russia Cooperation and Future Contacts

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss key issues of bilateral cooperation and the schedule of upcoming joint events and high-level contacts, according to Kazakhstan’s Akorda press service.

During the conversation, Tokayev congratulated Putin on the successful organization of the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation. He highlighted the organization of the voting process and wished the newly elected composition of the Russian parliament success in its work for the benefit of Russia and its citizens.

The two presidents exchanged views on the current state and prospects of Kazakh-Russian cooperation and discussed preparations for forthcoming contacts at the highest level.

The conversation also focused on the schedule of upcoming joint events involving the two countries, underscoring continued high-level engagement between Kazakhstan and Russia.

Tokayev and Putin last met on September 1 in Bishkek on the sidelines of the anniversary summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, where they discussed bilateral relations and cooperation within regional and international formats.

The latest telephone conversation further highlighted the ongoing dialogue between Astana and Moscow on bilateral cooperation and forthcoming high-level engagements.
