Turkish Foreign Minister Meets with Egyptian President in El Alamein

Ankara, The Gulf Observer: In a significant diplomatic engagement, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in El Alamein, northern Egypt. The Turkish Foreign Ministry confirmed the meeting on social media platform X on Monday, although neither side disclosed the details of their discussions.

Fidan’s visit to Egypt, which commenced on Sunday at the invitation of Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, included key stops at several strategic locations. These included Egypt’s al Arish port, the Rafah border crossing, and the Egyptian Red Crescent Logistics Center.

During his visit, Fidan also engaged with North Sinai Governor Major-General Khaled Megawer and Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, highlighting the broad scope of his diplomatic mission.

The meeting between Fidan and al-Sisi underscores the ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Turkey and Egypt, reflecting a mutual interest in fostering regional stability and cooperation.
